Elderberry Herbal Tea with Immune Boosting Herbs




There’s absolutely nothing quite as calming as a mug of organic tea. It warms up the ins, and promotes an immediate sensation of tranquility and also well being.

By far my favorite part of the day is steeping some natural herb selection in my teapot and remaining on my day bed to read a book, surf my favorite blog sites, or simply stare out at the stunning green view. If all that had not been advantageous enough– organic teas also lug with them an entire host of health and wellness benefits. Today I would love to introduce Elderberry Herbal Tea from Emily Sunwell-Vidaurri. 





Elderberries are known to help boost and support the immune system. They’re high in vitamin A, C, and bioflavonoids. Red raspberry leaf and oatstraw provide calcium, manganese, iron and selenium. Nettle is highly nutritious and is full of usable vitamin K + lots of minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium, selenium, potassium and zinc. Cinnamon provides a warming effect + supports digestion. Last, but not least, one of my favorites – astragalus root which is known for helping support the immune system.

How To Make a Elderberry Herbal Tea

Ingredients
  1. 2 parts dried elderberries
  2. 1 part red raspberry leaf
  3. 1 part nettle
  4. 1 part oatstraw
  5. 1-2 astragalus root strips
  6. 1 cinnamon stick
  7. 4 cups filtered water

Instructions

  • Combine all dry herbs in a medium size bowl or mason jar.
  • Stir to combine and store extra herbs in an airtight glass mason jar.
  • Bring water to a boil in a medium size saucepan or tea kettle.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add 4 tablespoons of the herb mixture, 1-2 astragalus root strips and 1 cinnamon stick {1 tablespoon herb mixture per 1 cup water} to a quart mason jar.
  • Pour hot water over herbs, COVER and allow to steep for a minimum of 30 minutes to 4 hours for maximum benefit.
  • The longer you steep it, the stronger the flavor will be.
  • Strain tea.
  • Reheat tea if needed to desired temperature.
  • Serve as is or sweeten with raw honey or unrefined sweetener of choice.

Notes
Yield: Makes 1 quart of tea.

  1. Store extra tea in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  2. Drink 1-4 cups daily.
